In the first week
of September the English edition of 'Over & Over' was published. Of
all the books about the Battle of Arnhem this book ‘Over & Over - Eyewitness
Accounts of The Battle of Arnhem’ is a very special one. It contains the
stories of British veterans that were collected over the past several years
by an enterprising Dutch boy
Peter-Alexander
van Teeseling who grew up in the area where the battle took place.
Stories from Dutch civilians during that period as well as several background
stories have been added to put the events described by the veterans in
proper context. The events are furthermore abundantly illustrated with
pictures both from public and private collections.
This book would be of special interest to those who were either directly involved in the events of September 1944 or whose family played a role in these tragic events. 'Over& Over' is a must for collectors of books about WWII, Operation Market Garden, and the Battle of Arnhem. |
